Jeremiah Press was founded in 1988 by Susan Blum Gerding, Ed.D., to provide a self-publishing company for her own books on Catholic evangelization, renewal, lay ministry, and spirituality. Her first book, Mission:Evangelization, was coauthored with a Catholic priest and a lay man in 1984, and was simply copied for parish training seminars. Her second book, The Ministry of Evangelization was published in 1988 by the prestigious Catholic publishing company, Liturgical Press in Collegeville, Minnesota, and maintained successful sales, remaining in print until 2007, when the rights to the book reverted to Dr. Gerding. Mission: Evangelization was formally published in 1988 as the first offering of Jeremiah Press, Inc. which continued in popularity for eight printings until 2000. Currently, it has been revised as Heart to Heart Evangelization. And the rest is history.
With presentations of Isaiah Missions at hundreds of parishes and at diocesan and national conferences to which she was invited as a guest or keynote speaker, Sue had a ready audience of customers for her books. She had no need for a full-service publishing house providing publicity, public relations, advertising, warehousing or order fulfillment. Soon, other author/speakers or writers who had automatic markets, asked her to publish their books.
Her most recent book, Harvesting Our Tears, provides a participants manual, a CD of original Christian music performed by Anawim, the music ministry of the Cathedral at Covington, Kentucky, and a Facilitator's Guide. With the loss of two of her children, Sue realized that there were no Catholic faith-based support groups, so Sue designed one, using her course and curriculum design knowledge and experience provided through her Doctorate in Adult Education. She also is the co-founder of Isaiah Parish Missions (1984), and designed and developed most of the mission formats and all of the follow-up material provided for small group discussion.

Like Isaiah Missions, Jeremiah Press has grown like Topsey. Many of her earlier books are being prepared now for POD publication, Print on Demand, whereby the book is purchased from the website as usual (using the shopping store) and then either printing the book on your own printer or reading it directly from the screen. One book is offered on this website in POD form, Christ the Cornerstone.
